Marrakech's official tourism portal describes Agafay as a rocky, mineral desert landscape. It should not be confused with the large sand dunes that some images of Morocco may evoke.
This difference helps in choosing the right excursion. If you are primarily looking for a view or a quiet moment, ask the provider to show you the actual location of the outing and to specify the schedule. A promotional photograph does not replace an accurate description of the programme.
